I have read about a lot of people that actually make money off credit cards. They do what people call credit card arbitrage. Credit card arbitrage is you take one of those 0% interest or low interest checks your credit card gives you and dump it into a higher yield savings account or investment.
Some people have credit lines of $100,000 or more, so you can see that making just a couple of percent can earn you thousands of dollars. The following MSN money article goes into it more deeply.

Arbitrage with Prosper.com
Another interesting site for anyone that wants to do arbitrage is Prosper.com. Prosper.com has been called the eBay of lending. Basically it allows anyone to borrow or lend money to others. By doing this it squeezes out the middle man which are the credit card companies and banks.
I have read that some people have actually borrowed money from prosper and then used that money to lend out to others for a higher APR. It is awesome to use other peoples money to make money.
Note this type of credit card arbitrage does not work if you already have credit card debt and if you are not willing to keep everything organized to avoid any penalties.
