Feed the World While You Improve Your Volcabulary – FreeRice.com

Rice FieldHow about a way to give back to those in need?  It’s free but will cost you time and brain power.   Freerice.com is a sister site of www.poverty.com .  Freerice.com has 2 goals

1) provide English vocabulary for free to whomever uses the website and

2) help the UN end world hunger one small donation at a time.

Your involvement is easy, no registrations, no commitments, just a fun way to expand your vocabulary.  Every answer you get right you have just donated 20 grains of rice.  20 grains doesn’t seem like much, but this morning I donated 2000 grains of rice in less than 10 minutes.  Rice is a staple amongst many countries and cultures, but a valuable luxury to hungry people thousands of miles away.

I stumbled upon this site when looking to supplement my middle schoolers education at home.  We go on the sight at least 2-3 times a week.  It’s a fun way to expand and challenge your vocabulary plus you get to watch your rice bowl fill up and empty out as a donation.  You can also check out the monthly rice that have been donated.  Be apart of a good cause + exercise your brain + help those in need = warm fuzzies!
