Now that it’s tax time, you may be thinking about how to get more organized for next year. Here’s an idea: you can get a totally free version of Intuit’s popular QuickBooks software for your small business accounting and billing. (Windows only)
QuickBooks is the nation’s most popular small business accounting software. If you’re self-employed, now is the time to get rid of those unorganized piles or misplaced emails, and set up a real system to keep track of all your clients and income. Be aware that the Simple Start free version of QuickBooks has fewer features than the full-priced one. You can’t track inventory or export data to Excel, for example. But it handles the basics well – setting up accounts, generating invoices, and recording payments and expenses. Presumably Intuit is offering free QuickBooks in the hope that you will want to upgrade to a paid version later. But that’s strictly optional and they don’t bug you about it.
