Free Southern Style Chicken, Just buy a Drink!
McDonald’s is giving away a free Southern Style Chicken Sandwich or Southern Style Chicken Biscuit with the purchase of a medium or large soft drink on Thursday May 15, 2008. Soft drink prices might vary from state to state, but are typically under $2.00 including tax, so this is a nice cheap deal. The Chicken Biscuit will be given away from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and the Chicken Sandwich will be given away from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Angel Food, It’s Not Just Cake!

Angel Food Ministries helps people afford groceries. They offer a monthly menu consisting of frozen meats, prepared meals, produce, dairy, grains, and dessert. (Items, may or may not be available from month to month.) The cost to you is $30 for $60 (or more) worth of restaurant quality food. After you purchase the main monthly menu or "regular unit" you have the option of adding on to your order of 3 featured specials for $20 per special.
My hairdresser was telling me of a family that she knew personally that was in need and that’s where they get their groceries every month. With the rising cost of food, fuel and everything else, it’s comforting to know that if you need an alternative to the bulk of your grocery needs, you have one.
Researching the site, items are not close-out, 2nd hand, expired, or poor quality foods. It is restaurant quality food at wholesale costs. There are no qualifying requirements to take part of their fantastic offerings. The site is very informative and upfront. Founded in 1994, Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization that provides food relief to over 500,000 families each month in 33 of 50 states. Baskin-Robbins 31 Cent Scoop Night!
Baskin-Robbins is having their second annual 31 cent scoop night on Wednesday, April 30,2008. It runs from 5pm to 10pm. There are 2,800 locations nationwide and each person can get 10 scoops of 2.5 ounces of their favorite flavor. Baskin-Robbins is teaming up with The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and donating $100,000 to the foundation.
You can satisfy your sweet tooth and help a good cause. Usually a scoop of ice cream cost around $2 or so. You could buy 6 scoops of ice cream for only $2 on wednesday night. I can’t wait, I am going to order gold medal ribbon, very berry strawberry, chocolate chip cookie dough, oreo cookies and cream, mint chocolate chip and rocky road. I know this isn’t going to help my diet, but for a good cause I can cheat.

I have never ate at Morton’s Steakhouse but there is one here in Honolulu. Many people tell me that their steaks are "ono" (Hawaiian word for "delicious"). For some reason I end up going to Ruth Chris instead but I have been meaning to try this place out. From what I hear the steaks at Morton’s are comparable to Ruth Chris Steak House. They serve USDA prime-aged steaks which are suppose to be the best.

I just checked out the certificate and it says here in Hawaii and Seattle that the special is $119 instead of $99 like the rest of the country. I can understand Hawaii being more expensive but why Seattle.

Top Ten Best Bargain Fast Food Meals
In today’s society of instant satisfaction in meals, the individual has plenty of choices in bargains for fast food. Sometimes he/she may not feel like standing over a hot stove, or waiting for that pot roast in the oven.
Sticking a hot pocket in the microwave may even be a chore for some (this has to be one lazy individual, but I’ll let it go for now). Anyway, the easiest place to find while driving on any interstate across the nation is a fast food chain.
The good news about most fast food franchises is the fact that bargain deals usually deluge most menus. Here are the top 10 best bargain fast food meals.
1. The 99-cent menu at Wendy’s. The bowl of chili, chicken nuggets, small French fries, baked potato, chocolate Frosty, bacon cheeseburger, and more.

2. Arby’s 5 roast beef sandwiches for 5 dollars. This is even a good deal for the connoisseur of Baked Alaska and Château Briand (although you may not want to let the other yuppie snobs know you actually eat at Arby’s).
3. The Filet O’ Fish at McDonald’s is a good choice if not compared to Baked Alaska.

4. Sandwiches at Subway are actually worth the customer’s time if he/she doesn’t mind the Grand Inquisition. “Swiss or Provolone…olives…tomatoes…six or twelve inch? Enough with the inquiries, already…I’ll have a Number Three twelve inch—light on the onions and hold the questions.
5. The Tostadillo at Taco Bell is quite different from the Burritillo. The Tostadillo has a shell, shredded cheese, refried beans, onions and tomatoes. It costs about 79 cents for the small and $1.39 for the deluxe.
6. The Double Cheeseburger at White Castle is good for the consumer that wants to not only double the beef and cheese, but also double the onions and pickles as well. At $1.20, you can’t have just one of these belly bombers.

7. The Original Whopper at Burger King can be purchased for less than $1.20 at select locations, for the great taste of a sandwich with questionable nutrition value.

8. The value menu at McDonald’s. It seemed to cost just as much to eat a meal of a Big Mac, French fries and refreshing soft drink, as it does today with the dollar menu. I even remember the commercial from the early to mid-1980s: “Big Mac, Filet O’ Fish, Quarter Pounder, French Fries, Icy Coke, Milk Shake, Sundae and Apple Pie.”
9. Jack-in-the-Box has a new value meal. “The Big Deal” includes two beef tacos, a chicken sandwich, and 20-ounce soft drink all for $2.59. The calories clock in at 892 calories with 37 g. of fat (11 g. saturated fat)—not to mention 1274 mg. sodium, 58 g. of sugar and 114 g. of carbohydrates. 10. At Checkers, the Champ Burger with Cheese is only $3 for two. But that’s not all—you get to decide how you want the burger with your own cheese (Pepper jack, Cheddar or American).
When the time comes and you have the serious “munchies”, it’s time for fast food to come to the rescue. You may have to perform a high-wire act when it comes to what’s best for your health, but if it’s great taste, and less nutrition you’re looking for, you can’t go wrong with any of the above choices. I recommend Todai restuarant because I love the food there. They serve delicious Japanese food with all can eat sushi.
