T. Rowe Price has developed a tool called the Family Records Organizer CD-ROM to help you with these organizational challenges. This software provides you with an easy way to gather all your family’s records in one safe place, including primary contacts, investments, banking and credit cards, insurance, and more with the intent of passing this information along to your beneficiaries or keeping it in a safe place. The free software CD is available in both Mac and Windows formats.
Do you have a backup plan? Not the computer kind, but do you have a plan for accessing all your important financial records in case of emergency? If your house burns down or something happens to you, it’s a smart idea to have all your financial information in a safe, separate place, perhaps stored on a secure server or in an old-fashioned safe deposit box.

Unless you’re one of those rare folks who pays cash for everything, you need a good FICO score. FICO is your credit rating. It is a crucial piece of information that banks, mortgage companies, and others use to decide whether to approve you for loans and credit cards. So be informed.
Here are some interesting FICO facts:
FICO® scores are your credit rating
They range from 300-850, higher is better
Most lenders base approval on them
Higher scores mean lower interest rates
FICO® scores are calculated based on your rating in five general categories:
Payment history – 35%
Amounts owed – 30%
Length of credit history – 15%
New credit – 10%
Types of credit used – 10%
The median FICO® score in the U.S. is 723

This is great because I can check on my credit score and see if i can get that new car to cruise the town. It’s better to be informed than left in the dark, especially when it deals with your money.
