The general idea behind Spam Arrest is that an automated spambot will not verify a person’s identity like a real person. The process is simple and the instructions are easy to follow and will saves you time. After signing up for Spam Arrest, you’ll receive your own SpamArrest.com email address. Then you make a few minor updates to your email program (for example: Outlook).
This is so that Spam Arrest can download your email from your ISP to the Spam Arrest mail server where they will organize and block everything that you do not want. This program allows you to filter up to 5 email accounts for the basic service. You can access your email of your multiple accounts by simply logging in to your account from the Spam Arrest website if you want to save time and quickly check your mail.
Spam Arrest allows you to decide whose email is allowed to enter your inbox. Email addresses can be pre-authorize and even domains. So, anyone who attempts to email you who are not listed on your authorized list will automatically be sent a notice requesting them to verify the reason why they are trying to send you a message. People who you place on your pre-authorized list such as family members, friends and business associates will not receive an email requesting them to identify themselves. So, they won’t even know that they are using a spam filter.
Any unverified emails that are 7 days or older are automatically deleted. This product also offers a ‘Block Sender’ feature that blocks legitimate addresses from people you no longer want to receive mail from. A Spam Arrest account rates starts as low as $5.95 per month. They also offer add-on features for an extra fee.
The bottom line is Spam Arrest is a great email filtering product. Before I started using the email blocker service, unwanted emails would still creep into my inbox. Since I’ve started using this service, I haven’t received any annoying and unwanted spam emails. This is very easy to use and it you don’t need any software installed.
Pros: There is no software to install. No scanning of waiting emails. This allows you to manually add senders to your ‘authorized senders’ list. Block sender option.
Cons: Connecting to Spam Arrest is a little slow and takes more time than connecting to your pop server directly.
