For me, growing up in New York City, FAO Schwartz’s huge Fifth Avenue store was a child’s every dream come true.  Exquisitely dressed dolls were tantalizingly displayed in big glass cases, waiting to be taken home by a lucky little girl.  Giant, elaborate toy train sets snaked all around the store.  It’s still a magical place today, and an essential stop for New York City tourists.
