Legendary toy store FAO Schwartz has a big sale, save up to 60% on high quality toys the kids will treasure.  Obviously you won’t get them in time for Christmas, but it’s a perfect time to stock up for birthdays – or even for Christmas or Hanukkah 2009.

For me, growing up in New York City, FAO Schwartz’s huge Fifth Avenue store was a child’s every dream come true.  Exquisitely dressed dolls were tantalizingly displayed in big glass cases, waiting to be taken home by a lucky little girl.  Giant, elaborate toy train sets snaked all around the store.  It’s still a magical place today, and an essential stop for New York City tourists.
